Something else I wanted to mention re: todo lists. I've tried many many times to set up a stringint "blog Update Schedule". Things like "Transformers Review Mondays, Game Review Wed, Some sort of photo comic Friday" etc.

This always ends in a mess and lasts barely half a week with the end result being "i hate blogging". Sometimes forcing yourself to "Get things done" just doesn't work.

Part of my overall issue with organization is follow through. For example. I set up a ToDo list on Rememberthemilk.com . I use it quite a bit. By "use" I mean, I add things to it. I never remember to actually check it or check off items I've done.

I set up an evernote account so I could remember things and take notes. I drop lots of things in there. I rarely organize those thing or even look back on them at all.

've phased it out since getting the Blackjack but my best organizational tool I've had was the "Hipster PDA". a stack of notecards with a binder clip. I take notes on the cards, notes, songs to download, whatever. Maybe once a week I'd go through and follow through on those notes or downloads. Now I've switched to the Blackjack with RtM and Evernote. I find I have little follow through.

PS My desk contains a pile of random notes, many with zero meaning since I would scribble down a phone number and not who it belonged to.

Rick: I have that same problem in Pokemon. Sure, Jigglypuff and Skitty are cute but that doesn't make them good Pokemon for a "main team"... but I'll do it anyway.

Anyway, in consistence with the third from last paragraph. I used to "bash Linux" because it was funt o screw with elitist Linux users. Now that I've used Linux a lot, multiple distros, heck I have a laptop currently running Linux, I still will say I dislike/hate Linux and that it pretty much sucks for anything other than a server that doesn't require human interaction.

90% of the time when I feel the need to actually install some flavor of it, I end up wondering "why do I need this?" and scrapping the whole thing once I get it running.

The point is, that just because someone uses it doesn't mean they like it or are defined by it on any level. Basically I'm supporting the "likely" part of ...

"If all you knew about me was that I owned a Mac, it’s likely that my definition includes the property “likes Macs” but it is in no way necessary that it include the property."

because "likely" is certainly not "definitely".

Rick: Also I'm not nearly as competitive as you are in that arena, and you're really the only consistent human opponent I have to go against.

Rob: I think maybe you might have missed my point.

It's not that using a Mac makes you an insufferably smug bastard, it's that the only reason to use a Mac is to be an insufferably smug bastard.

Correction: the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads are wildly popular amongst Mac owners. Everyone else pretty much loathes them - to the point that I've actually heard people proclaim that they're going to buy PCs to spite them. These ads are also part of why non-Mac owners think Mac owners are pompous assholes - Justin Long comes off as extremely smug in those commercials.

Though I will note that I think the "nobody else uses it" impetus is part of why I keep beating you at Pokemon - you're more likely attracted to the less-used Pokemon, without considering why they're less used, or coming up with ways to compensate for their flaws.

How can a game involving puzzle solving be termed a visual novel? Of course the main attraction of the games is the script, but you can say the same of many old LucasArts adventure games.

This isn't like Planetarian - it's not literally just "read a novel with pictures." There is effort you do involved. :) I'd say it's kosher to count it.

Just don't count Planetarian that way. (It uses the kind of engine Kanon, Air, and Clannad use - actually, it literally uses the engine that Clannad and the rereleases of Kanon and Air use... but there are no actual "choices" and the savegame metaphor is renamed "bookmark." It's literally just designed to be a novel with illustrations you read through in this format - it's a good story that decided to use the engine as its medium).
