So, today is the day before Christmas. We’re looking at Bailout borrowed from Eric today, but I promise, tomorrow I’ll have brand new Bailout brought by the jolly man himself. John Hodgman. Wait, no, I mean Santa Claus. (In my defense, they are similar-looking.) Have a good day and sleep well tonight, if at all.
Sorry, folks– I meant to have a full post together by this morning, but Things are Happening. Primarily, a very long drive. So, we’ll shoot for later tonight, and if we don’t get that one, we’ll try for tomorrow afternoon.
No, it’s not the Who song. But, it does sound like an interesting trailer. And where have I heard “The Dark is Rising” before? Incidentally, tomorrow we’ll have a regular post, I imagine.
Sorry, folks, I got super-busy last night and didn’t have time to write up a post for this morning. And I’m deathly afraid of running later than I already am, so this will have to do– I’ll hope to have something with a bit more to it tomorrow, but we’ll see.
Believe me, I’m getting sick of these ‘no time’ entries too.
So, the TMBG concert… I loved it. I hadn’t realized that Mr. Smalls was an old church; it had perfect acoustics and was a generally nice place. The opening band, Oppenheimer, were OK but a little lackluster– they relied a bit too much on the vocoder. Of course, the Johns were awesome. I don’t have a setlist off the top of my head but the highlights were “The Cap’m”, “The Mesopotamians”, “Maybe I Know”, and “Doctor Worm”. (EDIT: I also really liked “With The Dark”.) I actually hadn’t heard any of The Else yet, so I picked that up (and a shirt) on the way out; iTunes has just finished ripping it and I’m exhausted. It’ll get a full listen tomorrow at work (today, actually– yeah, I’m copping out and calling this the entry for the 16th; technically, it’s 12:45 right now, so that counts). Catch you guys on Saturday, hopefully with that Bailout that I’ve been promising.
