Dear Capcom:
There is a reason I have dragged my feet on playing and finishing the Phoenix Wright games. While I will admit that they’re wonderfully written, the two biggest things stopping me from actually going through them sooner than now are the fact that you have elected to make every case drag on longer than the OJ Trial did, and that you refuse to let me accelerate the speed of the text to a reasonable rate, which would be anything faster than the god damned glacial pace you set it at now. I mean, for cryin’ out loud, games taught me how to speed-read, so how about letting me use that ability once in a while?
I sat down to do Case 2 in Justice For All (yes, I am that far behind) last night at, oh, five thirty or so, and I finished it at nine thirty. Really, the writing is the only thing keeping me going– but it is quite worth it.
Also, could you guys please manage to make a Resident Evil game that a) doesn’t suck and b) has a difficulty level more along the lines of what reasonable people would want to play? Preferably I’d be happy if you re-did Umbrella Chronicles with an “Easy” difficulty that wasn’t an abject lie, but if you can’t swing that, how about maybe ripping off Sega and doing Resident Evil Teaches Typing? I’d so be all over that bastard. You do that and I might even forgive you for the lack of new Mega Man Legends*.
* THAT WAS A JOKE. HA HA FAT CHANCE.

Heh. I hate to tell you, but the cases only get longer. I wish I were kidding. And nice Still Alive ref. ;P

I hear they already did that with Resident Evil 4.

Yeah, fudgin’ text speed is insanely slow on Pheonix Wright. In the first game I didn’t realise you could save mid-case and restore later, which led to a quite tortuous amount of slow repetition with the lunchbox lady in the final case (hampered further by the fact that the whole last case was riddled with holes the writers didn’t analyse properly). It’s probably the worst offender on annoyingly slow text speed since XG.
As for your second point, I guess Z is for zombie? Hoping to pick up Umbrella Chronicles myself at some point. The fact that it might present some challenge sounds promising.

I secon that with Phoenix Wright. I stopped after beating the first game. Good concept, slightly long and dragging execution. Also, maybe this chances with later games, maybe put the cases less on rails. Like maybe you can win by finding a key eye witness OR by finding fingerprints, OR by finding a security camera. That sort of thing.
Also I might not mind if the game had full voices going on for it so I could play without actually interacting.

I think Harvey Birdman has full voices; I’ve not put it into my PSP yet because I don’t want to start yet ANOTHER game pre-Brawl that will go utterly disregarded after this Sunday.
