Poketoberfest: Last Stretch Liveblogging
Today’s posts are going to be a little bit of an experiment… See, I don’t want to leave you guys hanging, and I don’t want to risk having an empty day. So I’m going to just dump my progress on the day’s Pokemon leveling in this post. So, let’s do this– here’s the status as of 11:30am: All team members at Lv 40. I’m also flat broke in-game, so I’m going to fight trainers mostly. As a side note, I (censored) hate the Trainer’s Eyes system. I suppose I’m just spoiled by the Vs. Seeker. Right, I’m off to work…
EDIT 1: 12:22, Flygon is now Level 45.
EDIT 2: 1:11, Linoone is now Level 45. Gardevoir is now Level 41.
EDIT 3: 1:53, Swampert is now Level 45.
EDIT 4: 2:28, Gardevoir is now Level 45.
EDIT 5: 3:16, Lanturn is now Level 45. Also, you have no idea how awesome it is to have Michael Jackson’s “Bad” start playing at the beginning of the battle that gets you to a level goal. I didn’t set it up that way, I swear, it was just… well, it was bad. Sha’mon.
EDIT 6: 4:22, Hariyama is now Level 43. I took a little break; when I came back I decided to just try my luck through Victory Road at this point and to prepare for the trip. I’m stocked on Potions, Revives, Full Heals, and I’ve loaded my team up with their TMs and more-or-less final movesets, barring the moves they have yet to earn (Swampert and Hariyama are the two big ones here). I’ve also got a handful of Rare Candies to use at my discretion if I decide I want to just get this thing over with already.
EDIT 7: 6:07, Victory Road is cleared. Levels range from 44-46. I’m not likely to clear the E4 right away, but I am going to give it a try here and see what happens; the worst-case scenario is that I just restart from this point. I’m actually surprised that I made it to the E4 this early in the day.
EDIT 8: 6:48, and I’ve just whupped all of the Elite 4 with minimal effort. I’m suspicious. Anyway, I saved and am preparing for the final battle.
EDIT 9: 7:06. ….I did it.
