Pre-Emptive Strike
Just saw the screenshots for Final Fantasy IV DS over at RPGamer. I’m sold already. I honestly thought FF3 had some decent visuals on the DS, but these shots– combined with the ones from late last month– just prove that S-E seems to know what they’re doing with regards to the whole “3D on the DS” thing. (Which does make sense… after all, for being a ‘first stab’ game, Chocobo Tales was actually quite pretty in and of itself.)
But, visuals are one thing. Now, let’s just hope they get the battle system right this time.
That bit up there about “now playing SRT” is sort of erroneous; I decided to take another run through a straight platformer before going back to a strategy game, so I’m about halfway through Super Princess Peach. (It won’t count as a completed game, as I did finish it last year.) I still think that SPP is one of the best Mario games to be released in the last ten years, even better than New Super Mario Bros. Here’s holding out that I wasn’t alone in the thought, and that a second game in the series is in the works.
….yes, I know how wishing for another Princess Peach game makes me sound. Like even more of a nerd than I really am. But just trust me.
GASP today, where I hang out with like-minded nerds and play board games. I dig that, yo. Catch you folks tomorrow…. possibly with some info on Tabula Rasa (now that I can actually talk about having been in the beta since June).
