GAME CLEARED: Pokemon Diamond (DS)

Posted in Game Cleared 2007, Gaming at 4:31 pm

At 5:21pm, I defeated Pokemon League Champion (Spoiler, hover over to read) and registered in the Hall of Fame for Pokemon Diamond on the DS. This is the tenth game cleared in 2007. The next game that is closest to completion is Super Robot Taisen (GBA), followed by Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii) and (nothing else started).

Just to remind you, they did something similar to that in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, too.

Now, of course, you get to the frustrating part.

Clearly you should work on SRT and 2nd Opinion now. They’ve been in the almost but not quite done stage for awhile now. ;)

I was working on SRT when Diamond was released. In fact, I fully expected to be able to set Diamond aside and go back to SRT about two weeks ago. Now, well, it’s just much easier. Matter of fact, I’m going to put Diamond away right now so I don’t play it more.

Rick: As I never completed any of the gemstone generation, I would not have known that, so it was new to me. Still, if I get a lull in games, Emerald is on my list, to farm starters at the very least.

Ah… did you complete the second generation? In fact, I believe the person you’d suspect was the final trainer was the champion only in the first.

Also, for the record, Emerald actually has a different final trainer than Ruby/Sapphire (while Emerald’s champ has stronger Pokemon, R/S’s champ actually has the better team).

I was pretty sure that the Rival was the champion in Silver/Gold, at least in the Johto Region (I do remember that Red/Ash was the supreme champion at the end of S/G’s Kanto region). That’s actually one of the key things I don’t like about Diamond/Pearl; with the amount of space available on the DS cards, they could have easily added a second region or made the existing region a bit bigger.

I’m *this close* from making a big post about this… hrm.

The Rival fights you as you arrive on Victory Road (much like in D/P) in G/S/C, but the champion is actually Lance, the final member of the E4 in the first game. Of course, Ash/Red awaits as the uber-champion in the end.

Eh, I can deal with not having enough real estate to explore in D/P (though it is bothersome at times). I’m just bothered by how poorly the implimentation is of the outsider influx - the part of the game where Pokemon from previous generations start to appear in Sinnoh.
