Twist Of Fate
Not much going on right now. Just wanted to call a bit of attention to the upcoming PSP title Fate/Tiger Colosseum; there are a handful of screenshots over here too. Took me a while to figure out what system it was on, as it’s not exactly on several of the pages (and, despite my recent turn at making a serious effort to learn, my hiragana is still mighty weak– more on that later), but from what information there is (and from glossing over the article at Kotaku) it seems like a cross between old-school Virtua Fighter and hyper-chibi Pocket Fighter. Naturally it never occurred to me that the small figurines I picked up at Tekko– namely, the (ahem) mutually attracted chibi Rin and Archer– were the basis for the models, but there you go.
Incidentally, the tool I’m using in this latest attempt to learn the proverbial moonspeak is a Mac-only program named ProVoc. There’s a pretty comprehensive Japanese file available on the site, so anyone who is similarly in the thrall of Lord and Master Jobs with an interest in becoming a ployglot might want to check it out. I’ll be sure to give periodic updates.
EDIT: Also, on the Japanese packaging for FF Tactics: Lion War for the PSP, the male Black Mage is so totally looking up that White Mage’s skirt. I know, I know, probably not intentional. But damn. First Croma, and now this… it gets me thinking that someone over at SE not only reads 8-Bit Theater, but actually likes it. What could be next? A new Mana game that doesn’t suck? …..yeah, maybe that one is a little too much to hope for.
