Tekko Notes, Day One
Hey. Not really enough photos just yet to go through the trouble of uploading; Friday is usually a slow day anyway. Usually. Anyway, there are a few things I’d like to mention right off the bat in brief, so as not to spoil the con report.
First, the DS is just plain badass for conventions; the PSP less so, but still a recommended piece of gamer’s equipment.
I am digging Ouran Host Club for no readily apparent reason, except maybe the Momiji-clone; I have to do some digging and find the connection to Fruits Basket because otherwise it’s going to drive me crazy.
And finally, in a stroke of luck (and insanity, false bravado, and reckless self-endangerment on my part) I got the chance to see all of El-Hazard in one run. (The first OVA series; there’s still, what, another OVA and maybe two TV series?)
I leave you with this parting thought. While I remain acutely aware of my faults in dealing with other people, I at least am not to this point yet, nor do I really see myself going in that direction. Catch you folks tomorrow.

When I first saw a couple episodes of Ouran at Otakon last year, I thought it was done by the same artist as Fruits Basket. Ouran is an unbelievably fun watch, though. Andrew, Barbie, and I all very much enjoyed watching it when we got home. Some of the parallels to Fruits Basket are there, but I’m not thinking of too many off the top of my head.

Heh. My anime club is watching Ouran right now.
Along with Jyuuohsei and Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora.
Try to say the last anime I just mentioned three times fast.

El-Hazard was my “gateway anime,” and it also got me started on writing fan-fiction. Hope you enjoyed it.
The second OVA directly continues the first OVA story-line. It’s a step down in quality, and rushed at only four episodes, but it’s still pretty good.
The first TV series is an alternate-universe story, with a teen-aged Ifurita and Rune Venus. It has its filler episodes, but overall, it’s as enjoyable as the first OVA for me.
The second TV series (Alternative World) picks up the first OVA story-line again. It’s for fans only. It has some lovely character-driven moments, but the overall story is crap, and its critical failure put an end to the franchise.

Mr. Adcock,
Have you seen the music video “Jinnai and the Bugrom”? If not, I highly recommend it.
