Cessation

Posted in Writing at 7:44 am

Yeah, while I was on such a great roll for Inconsequential last week, this week has just kind of stalled due to external factors. I’m otherwise engaged today, or I’d spend most of today writing. Tomorrow, well, maybe. I’m not sure. Anyway, it’s still sitting at 19 scenes remaining.

On the plus side, I did manage to knock off one project from my list. You’ll find out about that next week. I also feel much better– was fighting the beginnings of a sore throat for the latter half of the week– so I don’t have to worry about that. Well, not as much.

Also, in the John R Dum dept., last night I ran into my first real Wii problem. The controllers suddenly had ceased to function or even sync with the console. Apparently, the batteries had gone dead in the controller I was using, which confused the machine to such an extent that it took a hard reset of both the machines and the remotes to even restore order. Of course, I had had no idea that the batteries were dead. Ah well.

    This is exactly what happened!

The batteries died while playing, and then resyncing didn’t ever finish until we’d literally powered everything down and back up.

We learned this over a fair while of fidgeting with it. The hilarious part was that no batteries were “freshly” recharged at the time and it came close to me not even having gotten to play Wii Sports due to the time I spent dicking around mii creation, news, weather, and the virtual console.

This is on the day I got to try a Wii out, mentioned on the forum.
