Link Wednesday: The First Donuts
On Wednesdays, in the absence of actual content, I bring you Unpaid Advertising. Basically, this is a listing of things that have caught my eye over the past week. I hope you find it agreeable.
The Rayman: Raving Rabbids spots featuring “very useful facts” about bunnies are indeed quite useful themselves as a source of just how f^#$ed up humor can get. Myself, I laughed hardest at the final two (the Thanksgiving one and the Metal Gear spoof), but they’re all worth watching at least once.
I was referred to ChanceXChange by the creators of the Combat Cards LiveJournal meme. In any event, ChanceXChange is a great big free swap meet. You offer stuff that you no longer want, and ship it out on your dime, earning yourself a credit. Then, once you find something someone else no longer wants, you can spend your credit and get what you want. It’s a neat concept, and I have to admit that it being free and ad-free makes it an attractive alternative to advertising on Craigslist. It’s restricted to recommended for books, music, games and DVDs, which means there’s little gaming of the system (though someone who parts with books for games only is certainly an option; also, since the donor is responsible for shipping costs, it will definitely prevent larger items from being offered). I’m psyched about it, really.
Which reminds me, once I clear three more games, I’ll have to look into reclaiming the MGS titles.
The fluffy pinkness that is Strawberry Marshmallow will not be denied. I have to go and hunt down the last two discs, and the odds are good that I’ll be doing that online next week, but for right now… yeah, the kind of wimpy wallpaper selections offered will have to suffice.
For those who are of the Apple persuasion who enjoy seeing The Shat hit The Alien, Star Trek: TOS has just been added to the iTunes store.
Oh, and finally, for those of you who may not have noticed it, on Monday I put up my guide to taming iTunes’ large library. It’s incomplete, of course, but it’s better than nothing for right now. I hope it meets with your approval.
